lunch program
Our Lady of Mercy Academy provides a hot lunch program five days a week to students in grades K-8. The program is managed by the Home School Association with the help of volunteers from the school community.

For the current school year Simply Gourmet provides healthy lunch choices Monday through Wednesday. Simply Gourmet's goal is to provide students with healthy and nutritious foods, promote consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables through their preparation and individualized packaging, thus encouraging students to consume all components of the balanced meal.

Orders can only be placed on-line. For more information or to view menu items please visit their website: http://www.simplygourmetlunches.com.

In addition to Simply Gourmet we offer pizza every Thursday. Pizza is delivered by Park Pizza, in Park Ridge, at the start of each lunch period. Fridays are utilized for various lunch options. During Lent our Boy Scout troops host "ziti days", and throughout the year, the eighth grade class sponsors "Burger King Day", "Bagel Day" as well as an occasional bake sale, to help raise funds for graduation.

The hot lunch program is available from September until June.

This is an optional lunch plan - you are in no way obligated to buy lunch for your child.

A milk program is also available at OLMA on a monthly/yearly pre-paid basis. Milk money may be paid on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis (see school calendar for due dates and cost).

When milk is ordered in this manner, children receive their milk automatically every day during lunch period. Regular or chocolate flavored milk can be ordered. There are no forms to fill out; money should be sent to the office in an envelope with your child's name, grade, the type of milk requested, and “milk money - month of _______” written on the outside. Ordered milks will be distributed in the cafeteria at lunch period. Milk can also be purchased for kindergarten students for snack time.

Students are expected to display proper manners and abide by cafeteria and playground rules. All students must display good manners and respect each other during lunchtime.
